I love starting my day with a green smoothie! I usually go with my basic green, which can be found at the link below, but sometimes I switch it up based on what I have and what I am in the mood for.
What I always focus on - is that the ingredients are a balance of healthy fats, carbohydrates, and protein to keep my blood sugar balanced at all times. When we keep our blood sugar balanced, by having the proper quantities of each macronutrient group, we are less likely to have the sugar spike and crash, and instead maintain a steady stream of energy throughout the day - which is always my goal!

Berry Cherry Green Smoothie
1/4 c. blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1/4 c. cherries (fresh or frozen)
2-3 strawberries *can sub out any berries you have for above*
1 - 1.5 c. unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
1 T. chia seeds
1 T. unsweetened almond butter
1 c. frozen spinach (or fresh)
3 T. hemp seeds or 1 scoop collagen protein
Topping: crushed nuts / berries
Blend, top, serve in cup or bowl with a spoon and enjoy!
